WEEK + DAY: week 31 day 0
WEIGHT GAIN: 21 pounds total - my appetite has been fluctuating because of some reappearing symptoms. doctor has set a target of 30 pounds so a pound a week...here we go!
SYMPTOMS: back pain is, well, back. not as bad as before, luckily! the swollen feet & ankle syndrome has been on & off but nothing severe...until this past week. will explain more below.
FOOD CRAVINGS: sweets. anything chocolate-y. hot chocolate has been my best friend. also cannot get enough of these hannah max baking dark chocolate cookies. these have given me cravings for cold whole milk (i don't even like milk!).
FOOD AVERSIONS: no specific thing to call out, but i've been automatically avoiding super salty foods (even though i love them). it's definitely because of my swollen feet incident. see "lessons learned" below. ugh.
EXERCISE: definitely moving slower these days! im still walking on the treadmill, but at a slower pace & less steep incline for 25-35 min. weight-lifting has also lessened; i've been so tired! but target 2-3x a week. helps when Clint does a routine with me.
NEW DISCOVERY: http://www.seatcheck.org/ a family member purchased our infant car seat (so exciting!) & i cannot wait to install it lol. seatcheck is a helpful site that guides you to the right places in your zip code to make sure you are installing your car seat properly. we are definitely planning to get this done in the next month or so.
LESSONS LEARNED: i had a work trip to raleigh, north carolina around 29/30 weeks. these flights were so so different than my trip to maui a few months back. here were my mistakes: (1) didn't get up enough during the flight (2) decided to save room in my bag & wore boots -- MAJOR ankle/foot swelling as a result (3) didn't check in my bag & took a carry-on -- too much to lug around when the hubs isn't there to help. a few things i did right: (1) took a liter of water for each flight -- so important to stay hydrated; avoid [decaf] coffee! (2) packed a bunch of snacks -- almonds, protein bars, dried fruit, & lollipops were lifesavers. (3) wore leggings & layers -- one minute i was hot, another i was chilly (4) had a doctor's note on hand just in case the airline asked. it wasn't an easy trip but i'm thankful it was a safe one. pretty confident i'm not voluntarily flying anymore until post-pregnancy ;)
FAVORITE BABY PURCHASES: got some adorable items at my shower this past weekend...how can i pick favorites?!
FAVORITE MAMA PURCHASES: bio oil. not sure why i've been missing out on this? i still use my zoe organics belly butter but the oil is amazing for my lower legs & feet at night. love the light smell too.
