SECOND TRIMESTER SUMMARY [WEEKS 14 -28] WEIGHT GAIN: WOULD BE A LIE IF I SAID I WASN'T STRESSING OVER WEIGHT GAIN. I HAVEN'T BEEN AS ACTIVE AS MY FIRST PREGNANCY WHICH MAKES ME FEEL NOT MY BEST SELF. I KEEP REMINDING MYSELF THIS IS TEMPORARY & TRY MY BEST NOT TO COMPARE MY TWO EXPERIENCES. AT MY LAST CHECK UP (28 WEEKS) I WAS UP 20 POUNDS. I THINK IM HEADED TOWARDS A 35LB WEIGHT GAIN (I HIT 30LBS LAST TIME WITH A 8.5LBS BABE). WISH I COULD BE CAREFREE ABOUT IT, BUT IT LINGERS ON MY MIND AT TIMES!
SYMPTOMS: (1) INDIGESTION. MAJOR. LET'S JUST SAY I HAVE NEVER HAD TUMS BEFORE & NOW I'VE MADE UP FOR LOST TIME. (2) BACK PAIN. SCIATICA PAIN IS CREEPING UP AGAIN. MY OB INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE A RETROVERTED UTERUS (TILTED OR TIPPED). AKA IT'S TILTED BACK TOWARDS MY SPINE, MAKING THE BABY NESTLE BACK THERE MORE. ITS ALSO WHY I HAVE ALWAYS CARRIED VERY LOW. (3) FATIGUE. ITS BAAAAACK! (4) LEG CRAMPS. THESE ARE BRUTAL! WAKING UP MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO THESE IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. LUCKILY, MY COUSIN GAVE ME A LAVENDER-BASED SOOTHING GEL THAT HAS HELPED. FOOD CRAVINGS: MY INTENSE CRAVINGS SUBSIDED AROUND 16 WEEKS BUT STILL GIVING INTO FOODS THAT JUST SOUND TOO GOOD TO PASS. FOR SOME REASON I'VE BEEN A BOBA ADDICT. I FOUND A SPOT THAT HAS CAFFEINE-FREE GREEN TEA. PEACH IS MY FAVE WITH LOTS OF TAPIOCA BALLS. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON TAPIOCA & GATHERED IT'S ACTUALLY HELPFUL FOR NAUSEA & DIGESTION. IT'S ALSO GLUTEN-FREE & HAS FOLIC ACID. AM I TRYING TO JUSTIFY? MAYBE. FOOD AVERSIONS: MY INDIGESTION PROBLEM HAS ME HESITANT AT CITRUS & SPICY FOODS BUT I CAN'T RESIST SO NO AVERSIONS AT THE MOMENT. EXERCISE: DOES CHASING A TODDLER & MAKING A HOUSE INTO A HOME COUNT? HOW I FOUND OUT THE GENDER: IN THE PARKING LOT OF OUR DOCTOR OFFICE BECAUSE WE COULDN'T WAIT TO OPEN THE ENVELOPE AT HOME! OFFICIALLY A BREEDER OF BOYS! SO EXCITED FOR ELIOTT TO HAVE A SIDEKICK. BUNK BEDS, ANYONE?! MUST HAVES: TUMS & LOTS OF BACKRUBS, HA! BEEN MORE CONSISTENT WITH MY BELLY OIL - I REALLY LOVE BIO OIL.
